Laura Kuah (ERYT-200, YACEP) fell in love with Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga after attending a 2018 workshop with Saraswati & Sharmila Jois. As a yoga practitioner for over a decade, it was a series of life events which led her to Heart N Soul Yoga Studio, where she found a supportive Mysore practice under the direct guidance of her main teacher, Isabella Gutfreund.

With lots of “blood, sweat and tears” + tough love from Isabella, Laura’s consistent yoga practice became a transformative force—deeply enriching her life, mental health, and overall body positivity. She has gone on to become a certified teacher, assisting Isabella in the Mysore Classroom and has also studied with some of the best Ashtanga teachers out there, such as John Scott, Kino MacGregor, David Garriges and Peg Mulqueen and Jen Rene. Laura enjoys counting in Sanskrit for led Ashtanga classes, Vedic chanting and also studies with Shantala Sriramiah (Veda Studies). Since 2022, she has been a certified Restorative Yoga & Sound Healer, bringing an element of healing + wellness alongside her Ashtanga discipline.

Lauretta works as the Studio Manager for Heart N Soul Yoga Studio and handles all administrative tasks including creative marketing, social media, content creation, event/workshop planning and retreats. She also provides yoga classes to FCPS teachers and staff members.

Outside of our studio, Lauretta runs Laurentina Photography and loves helping female-owned small businesses realize their potentiality through image curation and marketing.

When not working or serving the community, Lauretta enjoys international travel, being active outdoors, vegetarian foodie adventures and hanging out with her mischievous kitties: Gioia and Karma.
