Join in for in-person, Livestream, and on-demand classes!
Whether you’re joining us locally in Northern Virginia, traveling, or anywhere in the world you can join Heart N Soul Yoga virtually via Zoom, in-person in our beautiful Shala in Fairfax, VA or via the on-demand library. We devote a lot of attention to creating an inspiring and safe space for you to practice, a small family vibe, and most of all, a kind and uplifting community.
**Please register for all classes. A gentle reminder that you can cancel your reservation up to 1 hour before class begins. This will help our teachers plan their classes.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
🌈 MYSORE (M, T & TH: 7-9AM; Tues evening: 5-7:30PM)
A self-paced, non-guided Ashtanga class where students begin their practice independently at the start time and the teacher offers individual adjustments and guidance as you move through the sequence. Ideal for regular practitioners familiar with the Ashtanga method, this class builds strength, stamina, and focus—while also cultivating internal awareness. Students should arrive on time, bring their own mat, and be ready for the traditional sequence.
🔥 LED PRIMARY SERIES (Mondays 4:30PM & 6:30PM; Fridays 7AM)
This class leads students through the full Ashtanga Primary Series (Yoga Chikitsa) in a guided format. Students follow the teacher’s cues for each posture and transition, making it approachable for those newer to Ashtanga or those who prefer a more directed experience. Expect a steady pace, count, linking breath (Ujjayi) with movement (Vinyasa) throughout the practice. Benefits include improved flexibility, core strength, and detoxification.
🌻WAKE UP VINYASA (Sundays at 8:30AM)
Start your Sunday with energy, clarity, and connection. Wake Up Vinyasa is a dynamic morning flow designed to awaken your body and focus your mind. Guided by breath (Ujjayi) and rhythm, this class builds heat from within through intelligent sequencing — linking movement, breath, and awareness in a seamless meditation in motion.
Expect sun salutations, standing and balancing postures, gentle backbends, and mindful stretches to open the hips, shoulders, and spine. Each class is thoughtfully curated to invigorate without exhausting — leaving you refreshed, grounded, and ready to move into your day with steadiness and grace
🪷 VINYASA / SPECIAL CLASSES: (Wednesdays 7-8:30AM & 6:15-7:45PM)
Both of our Wednesday offerings (Yoga Surprise with Isabella & 5 Senses Yoga with Zulmira) are Vinyasa based classes. Sometimes, Wednesday morning also offers a restorative yoga practice (Moon-day inspired) or pop-up Workshop. In general, these classs are a slower-paced class designed for those newer to yoga. The teacher breaks down key postures and transitions, focuses on alignment, breath awareness, and accessibility. Good for building confidence, establishing a foundation, and adapting poses with modifications or props!
